Ad Agency New Business: Does Web Site Load Time Affect Your Rankings?
Imagine being in an advertising agency new business presentation and pulling out this information about your prospect’s website: the load time of your web site is too slow and it could be affecting your Google rankings. What a surprise, telling the prospect something that they didn’t know for a change.
Here’s the scoop: According to Google, the speed of that your website loads is a determining factor of where the site is ranked. Their rationale is the slower a website loads, the less the greater the user experience will be.
According to the Google Developers’ Page, “Fast and optimized pages lead to higher visitor engagement, retention, and conversions. The Page Speed family of tools is designed to help you optimize the performance of your website. Page Speed Insights products will help you identify performance best practices that can be applied to your site, and Page Speed optimization tools can help you automate the process.”

Prior to the Panda and Penguin updates, as noted in a previous post, some of my sites that got hit did indeed have slow upload speeds. OrangeCountyAdAgencies was speeded up as was AtlantaAdAgencies.com. In fact, most of the sites listed on the AAA network were analyzed and changes were made to increase the load time.
Now it’s your turn. Analyze the speed of your web site and compare it to your competition. Or, surprise your prospect about this in a new business presentation.
